Lets Create a Dream Treasure Chest!
This month's creative challenge invites you to create a physical space for your Dream. All of us have dreams but most of the time, those dreams are hidden in the back of our mind, in the journal, a piece of paper or a napkin. I invite you to bring it into the physical world - into your own Dream Treasure Chest.
To get started, we need a nice box - you can buy them in any arts/crafts or gift store nowadays - they are usually made of heavy cardboard and come in all kinds of pretty designs. Some have a separate lid, others look more like a treasure chest and have a magnetic clasp. Many have inspirational quotes, words and images printed on them already. Alternatively, you could use a small wooden box or any container that you like and decorate/embellish it any way you wish.
Now, create the following sign that you will tape or glue inside of your box (somewhere visible, like inside the lid):
"Whatever is in this box - IS"
Now, it's time to fill your box with things that represent your passionate dreams, these could be pictures from magazine or photographs, charms, stones, symbols, miniature toys, feathers, glitter, ribbons, pine cones, sand, play (or real) money or anything else that has a special meaning to you and represents your dream. Be creative and be on the lookout for little physical symbols that represent and symbolize your dream - and put them in your special dream chest.
Review your 'treasures" frequently and really get into the feeling of having your dream already happening. This is a perfect opportunity to let your imagination run wild as you are fantasizing about your dream.
This is a great alternative to a Dream or Vision board - I tend to really like the process of creating the dream or vision board and then losing all interest in it as soon as it's complete. I sort of get tired of seeing the same thing over and over. With the dream/treasure box, things can be rearranged, removed and added and played with!
Our children often like to have little treasure chests and they love playing with them. There is something enchanting with having your box of full of treasures that have special meaning to you. This definitely helps to get those creative juices flowing and gets us into the playful mindset - not to mention it brings great childhood memories...that might help us reconnect to our true purpose and manifest our dreams more easily.
I would like to know how you have personalized this challenge to your unique dream and life circumstances. And, do share pictures of your gorgeous Dream Treasure Chests. I am looking forward to all the inspiration...
