The previous challenge was about creating a sacred time in our life. This one is about creating Sacred Space - a special place in your life (home or workplace) that expresses your true essence and inspires you.
This place can be as small as a shelf or a corner and as big as art studio or an entire home! The key is that it reminds us who we are and what is our purpose. Everyone's Sacred Space will be different because we are all unique.
How to Create Your Sacred Space
Start with selecting a special space in your home or workplace;
Clear it of all physical clutter and items that don't belong there, you may also want to do a space clearing ritual or a prayer;
Next, start adding things that inspire you - all things that are special to you in some way;
Include a few touches from nature, rocks, seashells, feathers, plants. flowers, water, sand...;
Add a symbol of illumination - candles, incense, religious symbols, running water, crystals...;
If this is a corner or a room, add your favorite furniture, decorative items and art;
Engage all of your senses, add things that look, smell, sound, feel and even taste good to you - lovely colors, scents, bells or chimes, sand, water or earth and some tasty snacks!
A great way to decide what to put in this special space is to ask yourself: " What uplifts me?", " What belongs here?"
Once you have created your Sacred Space, it is time to spend time in it on a regular basis and interacting with it: writing in your journal, taking quiet time or meditating, praying, working on projects, creating, daydreaming, or simply sitting quietly and enjoying the lovely surroundings! Notice how having a special creative space affects you. How do you feel in your space? How are you reflected in it? What does this space say about you? If someone saw it and didn't know who's space it was - what would they say about its owner? Is it similar to the rest of your home or work space or completely different? Why?
"Your sacred space is where you can find yourself again and again."
